The Institute is 19 Km away from Kathgodam railway station on Haldwani-Almora road and located at Bhimtal (Nainital) having altitude of 1370 meters above sea level.The campus of the Institute is greenish, picturesque, pollution free, and spread over 20 acres of land.

The Institute offers the following programs:

  • MCA with an intake of 18
  • B.Tech. in E&CE with an intake of 30
  • B.Tech. in CSE with an intake of 180

The campus is fully residential and has 05 Boys Hostel with a capacity of 300 approx and one Girls Hostel with capacity of 200 approx. The academic block and hostel campus have been facilitated by Wi-Fi. The facility of dispensary and Ambulance are also available to take care of health issues of students and staff.

The Institute has excellent academic and Infrastructure facilities as per course structure and syllabus of affiliating University. For all round development of students, the Institute has various societies / clubs such as cultural society, literary society, sports society, Google Developers Club and technoforum club. The Institute has duly constituted Training and Placement Cell to take care placement and training of students. Large number of companies of repute regularly visit our Institute campus for providing technical and non-technical training and recruit our students. In the last academic year 2021-22, the placement record was 85% for and 90% for B.Tech. Recently, an MoU has also been signed under which NASSCOM has established a digital lab in the campus to promote computer literacy in the semi urban and rural areas of Institute surroundings. The journey of Birla Institute of Applied Sciences (BIAS) began in 1969 with the establishment of a Centre of the Birla Institute of Scientific Research (BISR) by Shri B. M. Birla, a renowned industrialist, in the newly developing Bhimtal industrial area.
